Winchester, MA - Siegel & Associates, LLC, certified QuickBooks Pro advisors who provide custom setup, training, and support as well as long-term bookkeeping and accounting services for businesses, has increased its staff by 50 percent over the past six months to support increased sales of QuickBooks products and support services. Company founder and president Jeff Siegel is a Winchester resident.
The company has opened new offices at 109 Massachusetts Ave. in Lexington, Massachusetts to accommodate its growing business operations.
While so many small businesses struggle with slowing sales and downsizing operations, Siegel & Associates has added new clients and new staff. The company’s gross sales have increased 13 percent over the past 12 months as a result of demand for QuickBooks Pro and Enterprise products and support services, prompting Siegel to hire five new employees since the third-quarter of 2008.
“As a result of the slow economy, we’re getting calls from more business owners who are looking for ways to reduce their costs and improve the efficiency of their operations,” said Siegel. “Outsourcing their bookkeeping and accounting services helps achieve this goal.”
Siegel is also getting calls from mid-sized companies who want an alternative to the higher-priced accounting systems they use.
“Many companies are taking a hard look at QuickBooks Enterprise for both its value and powerful features,” he said. “Its lower price saves the typical business thousands of dollars, and its large add-on developer base now provides the functionality to compete with more expensive systems.”
Siegel and his team of QuickBooks experts develop long-term client relationships and provide customized software solutions to meet specific business needs. The firm works exclusively with QuickBooks, products Siegel believes best allow business owners to organize and simplify their financial information as well as to connect this information to other areas within their operation.
For example, Siegel recommends a product that integrates with QuickBooks called Legrand CRM for his clients who want to better track their relationships with customers, prospects, vendors, and other business partners. “This technology tracks information in a centralized, secure, and controlled way. It provides live-access to historic sales data and other financial information and ensures sensitive information is not put at risk,” said Siegel.
CNG-Books is a QuickBooks add-on Siegel recommends to clients who want to manage documents more efficiently and securely, or who have a high volume of data entry. CNG-Books allows the user to scan and file images as it creates a QuickBooks transaction in a single process, and then links electronic documents to existing transactions and vendor or customer records.
Although many of Siegel’s clients take advantage of custom solutions, all benefit from the sound financial management Siegel and his team provide. “We work with our clients to improve the quality and timeliness of their financial information and to help them establish stronger financial controls. These principles are important to the success of all businesses in any economic environment.”
Siegel and his staff do not prepare taxes or perform audits, but they do work closely with tax professionals. Siegel estimates referrals from local CPA firms are responsible for nearly 80% of his firm’s business.
Siegel established Siegel & Associates after years of experience working in controller and CFO positions for various companies and in Senior Audit roles for two multinational accounting firms. Jeff is a graduate of Northeastern University and is a licensed public accountant. He is versed in numerous financial software applications and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
